The primary goal of business is to make a profit….otherwise, you might as well close shop, since doing nothing with your money (a 0% return) is more preferable than a negative return.
The free market knows that in order to make a profit, you need good people. If your is losing people because another company is giving better benefits, then the free market will guide that company to match those benefits, or fall behind the competition.
Hint: It isn’t all altruism.
